A revolution in split-specific performance, the Hitchhiker marries the reliably easy conversions of Spark R&D’s Tesla baseplate with the lightweight response and comfort of Burton’s straps. Topped off with a hi-back featuring skin track-friendly negative Forward Lean options, this is the best possible solution for ruling the ups and downs of backcountry touring.

Highback The simplicity of a Single-Component  Highback means immediate response. Through material blends, Burton then manipulates the overall flex profile—from buttery to responsive. The Negative Lean option offers comfortable adjustability, especially for the touring mode. Therefore, nothing interferes when making bigger steps and strides. The higher the Forward Lean angle on your highbacks, the quicker your heel edge turns. For mind-blowing tool-lees micro-adjustability, the Hitchhiker comes with Quick-Adjust FLAD®. The True OTT Hi-Back Padding is wrapping the upper portion of the highback with additional padding, which eliminates pesky pressure points.

Baseplate For maximum weight reduction, the machined aluminium Tesla T1 Baseplate comes with big cut-outs but still retain a durable high-end performance. The Hitchhiker’s Tesla T1 baseplate is only compatible with the Burton Crampon and Spark Ibex Crampon.  The Hitchhiker Binding mounts directly to **every 2015 and newer Burton splitboard **without any additional hardware needed. To mount the Hitchhiker Binding to any other splitboard, you can purchase additional interface hardware separately.

Straps  Featuring a minimal and seamlessly comfortable design, the Hammockstrap® wraps the boot in response. Flip the straps for increased freedom, or run stock for power and support. The minimalist design of the Supergrip Capstrap® 2.0 merges two materials into one technologically advanced toe strap. A firmer material in the spine provides a supportive and lightweight skeleton, while a softer over-moulded material improves boot wrap and comfort. Be the first to drop in with the rapid ratcheting of Burton’s Double Take Buckles. Helical teeth and “Insta-Click” engagement combine for increased torque per crank, faster uptake, and fewer cranks to tightness. The result: vastly improved strength, speed, and ease-of-use.

Included in delivery The Burton Hitchhiker contains the splitboard interface, but no pucks. You still need Voilé or Spark R&D pucks if they are not pre-mounted on your splitboard.
