Yamaha AEX502 Semi-Hollow Electric - Description
A beautifully made and increasingly hard-to-find Yamaha AEX502 semi-hollow electric guitar, made in Taiwan in 1999 and finished in a striking translucent orange finish.
As part of Yamaha’s underrated AEX series, the AEX502 combines the warmth and resonance of a semi-hollow body with the punch, articulation, and midrange bite of a P90 pickup. The result is a guitar at home with blues, indie, jazz, Americana, and alternative rock.
The compact semi-hollow body and center-block construction help keep feedback under control while retaining plenty of acoustic character and sustain. It has a very pleasant feel, excellent upper-fret access, and the outstanding fit and finish for which Yamaha became known during this period.
This example is in very good condition for its age, with only light cosmetic wear consistent with normal use. The translucent orange finish has aged beautifully, and the gold hardware has developed a tasteful patina over time.
