Blueridge BR-180N Dreadnought Gloss Natural 2011 Electro-Acoustic Guitar

This is a Blueridge BR-180N Dreadnought Electro-Acoustic guitar in Gloss Natural. Made in China in 2011 this guitar features a double bound Rosewood back and sides, Spruce top with Abalone purfling and Rosette, Mahogany neck and Ebony fingerboard with matching bridge. Other appointments include Gold vintage style tuning machines and Tortoise shell pickguard. An aftermarket unbranded passive piezo pickup has been fitted.

The Mahogany neck plays superbly well, with a traditional ‘C’ shape that encourages ergonomic thumb positioning in all registers and provides easy reach as well as smooth and responsive playability in all fingerboard positions. A volute is also featured behind the nut. This is pleasant under the thumb in the open position, and produces an authentic historical character. The Ebony of the fingerboard is supremely luxurious under the fingers, which along with the Abalone inlays adds a real sense of opulence to the playing experience. Its 14” radius ensures practicality for both chordal and melodic playing styles.

The voice of the Blueridge BR-180N is rich and beautiful, and really lives up to the reputation that this iconic guitar commands. The Rosewood back and sides provide a silky smooth bass response that remains detailed and accurate across the dynamic range. The mids are punchy and clear, and add a warmth and clarity to the tone. The top end is sparkly and bright, adding a glistening quality to every note played on the instrument. Gentle playing is rewarded with a very tender and soft tone, ramping smoothly up to the rich, loud chord strumming sound that the Dreadnought is renowned for.

Aesthetic Condition:

Headstock: Overall very good condition, the top edge demonstrates light scuffing visible only under direct lighting. The top rear edges and rear side edges near the top demonstrate moderate indentation piercing the finish slightly.

Neck: Overall very good condition, a previous break has been repaired, leaving a slightly raised texture on the finish. It is entirely structurally sound and is only cosmetic. There is no concern for further worsening of this.

Body: Overall very good condition, all aspects of the body demonstrate consistent light scratching visible only under direct lighting at certain angles. This is most notable to the rear face. The front face displays very light indentations that can only be seen under direct light.

Condition of Frets:

The frets demonstrate very light signs of use, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for future fret work.

Current Set Up:

Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (4mm hex) not included.

Hardware: Fully functional with light signs of use, most notably tarnishing of the gold plating on the tuning buttons.

Structural: No concerns or issues to note.

Height of the string from the 12th Fret-2mm - Bass 2.5mm
