Product Footprint App Updated: Explore the Environmental Impact of 12,000+ Devices
by Mattia Cugini, on Jun 9, 2026Transparency is key to making more sustainable technology choices. That’s why we’ve updated the Product Footprint App, making it easier than ever to explore the environmental impact of more than 12,000 smartphones, tablets and laptops.
Developed together with Fraunhofer Austria and verified by independent third party GutCert according to ISO 14040/44, our calculation model provides detailed insights into the sustainability performance of refurbished devices compared to new products.
The updated database now includes expanded and refreshed product footprint data covering:
- CO₂ savings
- Electronic waste reduction
- Virtual water savings
- Critical raw materials savings (smartphones only)
- Conflict materials savings (smartphones only)
Using technical product data such as battery capacity, storage size, production year and screen dimensions, the model calculates the environmental savings generated by extending a device’s lifespan through refurbishment.
Users can now directly discover the sustainability impact of thousands of devices available on the refurbed marketplace via the Product Footprint App.
